Oooh. Love a good flashback. Jerry Kirby, who sailed on Puma’s II Mostro during the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race (he’s now part of the VOR 2011-12 media team), gives the lowdown on what he packed for 40 days at sea and why he brought Cuban cigars. 

Kirby’s son, Rome Kirby, is currently sailing aboard Mar Mostro and is one of the youngest sailors competing in the 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race.
